I'm a Democrat, primarily because I grew up with my Democratic parents.

This is a really late post but I am a republican not because my parents are, but because I did the research for myself and I just don't like big government. I don't think that our founding fathers wanted a big government either. The basic problem I have with the belief system of the Democrats though, is that it tends to slip into socialism which our founding fathers DID NOt intend at all. I also don't like how they think that it is the goverments responsibility to dictate the free market. It is a proven fact that if left alone the free market will run itself. Anyways I could go on for twenty pages but i have too much to do so i will leave it at that. I ALSO WANT TO STRESS THAT I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE PEOPLE THEMSELVES, JUST THEIR POLICIES... ALSO, I AM NOT TRYING TO CUT ANY DEMOCRAT DOWN, I THINK WE ARE ALL JUST TRYING TO DO WHAT WE THINK IS BEST FOR AMERCA, SO DON'T GET ME WRONG, THE FOUNDING FATHERS INTENDED OUR REPUBLIC TO BE THIS WAY SO THAT THERE WOULD BE CHECKS AND BALANCES... ;D

I am about 70% Republican and 30% Democrat....It really depends on the issue.

I do disagree with my parents on some issues, though. I'm not 100% Democrat; just mostly.

It's always good to listen to what people have to say and learn from them, but it is eqaully important to have your own opinion.

You need to have a base opinion to start with, and then let that be altered slightly by other people's opinions. People who don't alter any of their opinion in any way, shape, or form generally turn out to be radical extremists.
